The Story of TailwindResume

Origin

Hello everyone, I’m Viking Zhang, the founder of TailwindResume. This is my first independently developed product.

The Problem

Many people face job interviews and job hunting, and I’ve noticed a very common problem: How should a technical resume be written?

Many students still randomly search for “XXX resume” templates on Google, casually filling in content without highlights, using messy and unattractive resume formats. Naturally, they miss out on their dream jobs. Not knowing how to write a technical resume is a widespread phenomenon.

The Solution

There are already many resume tools in the market. If you search for resume tools, you’ll find many similar ones. I’ve researched and used their features, but they don’t fully meet my needs. I believe that resumes for internet professionals should start to differ from resumes in other industries. They should reflect technical characteristics and rigor in both content and format.

A good technical resume should include:

  • Modern browser-based, web-standard compliant, responsive minimalist or personalized templates. TailwindResume Templates
  • Shareable - URLs are the foundation of today’s internet, modern resumes should support direct URL access or mobile QR code access.
  • Content-wise: It should be full of technical highlights that make interviewers’ eyes light up, which is what many candidates lack. TailwindResume Examples
  • Downloadable, preferably in PDF format.

Other resume websites aim to be comprehensive, including as many templates as possible, trying to cover everyone from programmers to chefs. But I want to stay focused and small, working in the industry I understand, solving real problems I encounter, helping a small group of people - such a product still has value.

Through EasyCV, I hope to create technical resumes in this format, helping more people develop the technical sense that programmers should have. This isn’t just a buzzword - I hope this group won’t just be code-producing machines, but creators full of personality.

Based on my years of experience, I’ve written a series of articles: “The Gold Standard Resume for Programmers”. You can read them and use EasyCV to create a near-perfect technical resume.

Future

I will continue to maintain this product and summarize many experiences about independent development from the side, such as technical architecture, costs, business promotion, and other experiences to share with everyone. In the future, I will also completely open the website’s operational data open startup as part of the experiment.
