AI Chat Edit

AI Chat Edit is the built-in chat in the resume editor. Instead of editing line by line, tell AI what you want in plain language. It shows a preview; you apply the change when it looks right.

Where to find it

In the resume editor, click the floating robot icon in the bottom-right to open the chat panel.

How to use it

1. Open the chat panel and describe what you want, for example:
   • “Make the second work experience highlight management skills”
   • “Tighten my summary and make the tone more professional”
2. AI streams the reply word by word, so you can watch the draft as it is written.
3. When the reply finishes, changes appear as preview cards. Each card shows the section name and a preview of the new content, so you can read it before you commit.

Apply or dismiss

Every preview card has two actions:

• Apply: replace the whole matching section on the resume and auto-save.
• Dismiss: drop this change. The resume stays as it was.

Tip

Read the preview before you apply. Apply replaces the entire section, so other text in that section is overwritten too.

Multi-turn chat and history

• Multi-turn chat: if the result is off, keep asking — “make it shorter,” “try a different phrasing.” AI continues from the current conversation.
• The panel keeps history: close it and open it again, and the previous chat comes back.
• History is kept for 24 hours, then cleared automatically.
• To start over, use the clear chat button in the panel.

Token usage

AI chat edit uses token billing (you are charged 1/10 of actual API usage). One chat-edit turn uses about 390 tokens. See AI Resume Assistant for the full rates and how tokens work.
